Located about halfway between La Paz and Sucre, the city of Oruro (also known as Uru Uru) sits at an elevation of 3,709 m (12,169 ft) above sea level.
Start off your visit on the 16th (Thu): take in the spiritual surroundings of Sanctuary of El Socavon and then make a trip to Plaza 10 de Febrero.

Uyuni to Oruro is an approximately 4.5-hour bus ride. You can also drive; or take a train. Expect somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Uyuni in March: highs in Oruro hover around 22°C, while lows dip to 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Fri) so you can drive to La Paz.

Take a moment to catch your breath as you commence your holiday in La Paz.
Go for a jaunt from La Paz to Tiwanaku to see Tiwanaku about 1h 50 min away. Spend the 19th (Sun) exploring the striking scenery along WMDR Yungas Road.
