Quito

— 59 nights

Light of America

High in the Andean foothills, Quito remains one of the world's most photogenic capital cities, featuring two dramatic mountain ranges as its backdrop.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Quito: Cotacachi (Cuicocha & Museo de las Culturas), Otavalo (Parque Bolivar, Municipio de Otavalo, &more) and Museo Fabrica Imbabura (in Atuntaqui). Spend the 21st (Tue) among the fascinating landscape of Cotopaxi National Park. There's still lots to do: get to know the fascinating history of Quito Old Town, admire the masterpieces at La Capilla Del Hombre, make a trip to Mitad Del Mundo, and admire the striking features of Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco.

To see where to stay, other places to visit, maps, and more tourist information, read our Quito online driving holiday planner.

If you are flying in from The Netherlands, the closest major aiports are Mariscal Sucre International Airport and Cotopaxi International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 26°C in January, and nighttime lows around 16°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Mon) early enough to travel back home.
