Arequipa to Iquitos is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus, ferry, and taxi. While traveling from Arequipa, expect a bit warmer days and much hotter nights in Iquitos, ranging from highs of 36°C to lows of 25°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Tarapoto.

As a busy commercial hub of northern Peru, Tarapoto straddles the foothills of the Andes and a high jungle plateau characterized by lush cloud forests.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Laguna Sauce and Asociacion de Proteccion de Flora y Fauna. Change things up with a short trip to Lyria in Lamas (about 32 minutes away).
