A center of commerce and trade, the thriving city of Pereira was founded in 1863.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Catedral de Manizales and Iglesia El Claret. For shopping fun, head to Region Paisaje / Landscape Region or Fundadores Centro Comercial. Get out of town with these interesting Pereira side-trips: Montenegro (Parque del Cafe, Globos Colombia, & more), Quimbaya (Parroquia Jesus Maria y Jose, Panaca, & more) and Santa Rosa de Cabal (Thermal Spas & Chorros de Don Lolo). Spend the 12th (Sun) exploring nature at Bosques de Cocora. Spend the 30th (Thu) exploring nature at Los Nevados National Park. There's much more to do: examine the collection at Museo Rayo, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Iglesia de Guadalupe, indulge in your favorite hot beverage with a coffee and tea tour, and experience rural life at La Divisa De Don Juan.
