The sleepy market town of Kabale in Western Uganda, although meagre in sights of its own, boasts close proximity to several national parks, just a couple of miles from the border with Rwanda.
Step off the beaten path and head to Lake Bunyonyi and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Visiting Safaris and Virunga Volcanoes will get you outdoors. The adventure continues: take in the architecture and atmosphere at All Saints Church.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Mombasa to Kabale in 4.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. Located in the heart of the country, Namibia's capital city Windhoek receives a constant influx of tourists, in part because of its international airport.
Explore hidden gems such as NamibRand Nature Reserve and Kuiseb Pass. Take a break from the city and head to Fish River Canyon Nationalpark and Safaris. Change things up with a short trip to Gross Barmen Hot Springs in Gross Barmen (about 1h 10 min away).
