Best known for its Champagne production, Épernay is a small town featuring several famous brands, including Moët & Chandon, that have been aged in the miles of tunneled cellars carved from chalk rock beneath the town.
Step off the beaten path and head to Moët & Chandon and Champagne Thierry Rodez. Visit Champagne Ruinart and Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Reims for their historical value. Go for a jaunt from Epernay to Passy-sur-Marne to see Champagne Alain Mercier et Fils about 46 minutes away. There's still lots to do: do a tasting at Mercier.
