Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
You'll explore and learn at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at The National Museum of Finland and Nuuksio National Park. Change things up with these side-trips from Helsinki: Porvoo (Porvoo Doll and Toy Museum, Porvoo Old Town, &more) and Heureka (in Vantaa). Prague, Czech Republic to Helsinki is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train, bus, and ferry. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Prague to Helsinki due to the time zone difference. When traveling from Prague in August, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Helsinki: temperatures range from 24°C by day to 13°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Mon) early enough to fly to Inari.
