Daegu

— 59 nights
The fourth-largest city in South Korea, Daegu sprawls out across a wide, flat valley overlooked by a sacred Buddhist mountain.
Change things up with these side-trips from Daegu: Seongju-gun (Gayasan Wildflower Botanical Garden & Hangae Maeul), Gyeongju (Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram, &more) and Haeinsa (in Hapcheon-Gun). Spend the 3rd (Sun) exploring nature at Gayasan National Park. There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Donghwasa, browse the eclectic array of goods at Seomun Market, stroll around Daegu Duryu Park, and take in panoramic vistas at 83 Tower.

To see photos, maps, more things to do, and more tourist information, read our Daegu holiday planning tool.

Expect a daytime high around 31°C in September, and nighttime lows around 20°C.
