One of Costa Rica's least accessible destinations, Tortuguero sits within an eponymous national park and remains accessible only by plane or boat.
Step out of the city life by going to Tortuguero National Park and Rainforest Adventures. When in Tortuguero, make a side trip to see La Danta Salvaje in Guapiles, approximately 1h 25 min away. There's more to do: choose your vessel at Tortuguero Adventures and see the interesting displays at Sea Turtle Conservancy.

Alternatively, you can do a combination of shuttle, flight, and taxi; or do a combination of shuttle, taxi, flight, and bus. Traveling from Tortuguero in March, expect nights in Tamarindo to be about the same, around 71°F, while days are somewhat warmer, around 94°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Sat) to allow time to travel to Santa Teresa.
