Cairo — 59 nights

City of a Thousand Minarets

More than 20 million people call Cairo their home and, as soon as you set foot in the sprawling metropolis, it's evident they make it crowded and chaotic, but also exuberant and charming.
Get out of town with these interesting Cairo side-trips: Saqqara (Niankhkhnum and Khnumhotep's Mastaba, Memphis and Sakkara, &more), Giza (Pyramids of Giza, Great Sphinx, &more) and The Monastery of St. Macarius (in Alexandria). On the 10th (Thu), spend a fun day on foot with Walking tours. Spend the 2nd (Fri) behind the viewfinder with an inspiring photography tour. There's much more to do: examine the collection at The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, take an exotic tour of a safari tour, steep yourself in history at Mosque and Madrasa of Sultan Hassan, and see Off-Road Tours.

To see photos, traveler tips, other places to visit, and more tourist information, you can read our Cairo vacation tool.

If you are flying in from Oman, the closest major aiports are Cairo International Airport and Sphinx International Airport. In November in Cairo, expect temperatures between 29°C during the day and 19°C at night.
