A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Baku: Khizi (Mikayil Mushfig House Museum & Candy Cane Mountains), Mardakan (Mardakan Arboretum & Mardakan Fortress) and Masazir Lake (in Masazir). Dedicate the 22nd (Sat) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's lots more to do: make a trip to Baku Old City, take in the pleasant sights at Baku Boulevard, delve into the distant past at Ateshgah Fire Temple, and enjoy breathtaking views from Flame Towers.

Findon, UK to Baku is an approximately 12-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and flight. The time zone changes from Greenwich Mean Time to Azerbaijan Standard Time, which is usually a 4 hour difference. Traveling from Findon in May, expect Baku to be somewhat warmer, temps between 28°C and 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Tue) so you can drive to Gusar.

You'll find plenty of places to visit near Shamakhi: Basgal Village (in Sileyli), Beshbarmag Mountain (in Siyazan) and Alti Aghaj National Park (in Altiaghach). Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
