The setting of some of the bloodiest battles of World War II, the vast city of Volgograd sits on the banks of the Volga River in the southern section of the country.
You'll explore and learn at Museum of Russian Fairytale and Kalach-na-Donu Museum of Local Lore. Explore hidden gems such as Rossoshka Memorial Cemetery and St. Nikita Church. Step out of Volgograd with an excursion to Junction of the Armies Monument in Pyatimorsk--about 1h 20 min away. There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Museum Pamyat, steep yourself in history at Stalingrad Battle Memorial, take in the history at Ljudnikova Island, and admire the landmark architecture of House of Loaders.

To plan Volgograd vacation without wasting time, ask Inspirock to design an itinerary.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major airport is Volgograd International Airport. In October, daily temperatures in Volgograd can reach 14°C, while at night they dip to 3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Tue) early enough to travel back home.
