Glenwood Springs occupies a scenic location at the junction of the Colorado River and the Roaring Fork River, halfway between Vail and Aspen along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
On the 2nd (Tue), relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour. Here are some ideas for day two: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Maroon Bells.

To find reviews, photos, and tourist information, read Glenwood Springs travel route planner.

New York City to Glenwood Springs is an approximately 7.5-hour combination of bus, flight, and taxi. You can also do a combination of flight and taxi; or drive. The time zone difference moving from Eastern Standard Time to Mountain Standard Time is minus 2 hours. When traveling from New York City in July, plan for little chillier days and much colder nights in Glenwood Springs: temperatures range from 68°F by day to 50°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Thu) to allow enough time to drive to Vail.

Originally built as a base for Vail Ski Resort, the town of Vail has blossomed into its own destination, but still has less than 6,000 permanent residents.
Kick off your visit on the 5th (Fri): trot along with a tour on horseback and then relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour. On the 6th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the pleasant sights at Vail Pass Path and then take some stellar pictures from Independence Pass.
