The temple town of Hampi sits on the site where one of the richest and biggest cities on the planet once stood, with the ruins of the old city protected as a World Heritage Site.

Get in touch with nature at Matanga Hill and Narihalla Reservoir. Group of Monuments at Hampi and Elephant Stables are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step out of Hampi with an excursion to Tungabhadra Dam in Hospet--about 48 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the long history of Vitthala Temple, make a trip to Shivlinga, admire the striking features of Lotus Mahal, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Hazara Rama Temple.
