Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti, gives most visitors their first taste of the country, along with all of its rugged and lively charm.
Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Village Artistique de Noailles and Papillon Enterprise. Step off the beaten path and head to Rosie's Boutique and El-Saieh Gallery. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Port-au-Prince: Museum Ogier-Fombrun (in Montrouis) and Kokoye Beach (in Petit Goave). There's still lots to do: explore the galleries of Musee du Pantheon National Haitien, get engrossed in the history at The Bureau of Ethnology, indulge your thirst for a good beer at Barbancourt Rum Distillery, and explore and take pictures at Marche de Fer.

Start off your visit on the 15th (Mon): step into the grandiose world of Sans Souci Palace, then steep yourself in history at Citadelle Laferrière, and then steep yourself in history at National History Park - Citadel, Sans Souci, Ramiers.

Drive from Port-au-Prince to Milot in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and taxi. While traveling from Port-au-Prince, expect a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Milot, ranging from highs of 82°F to lows of 76°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Tue) so you can travel back home.
