Haiti's second city, Cap-Haitien offers an atmosphere at odds with what you'll find in the capital.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Fri): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedrale Notre Dame de Cap Haitien, then get a dose of the wild on A Paradise Cove Escape and Haitian Village Experience, and then contemplate the long history of Heros de Vertieres. On the next day, step into the grandiose world of Sans Souci Palace, then contemplate the long history of Citadelle Laferrière, and then steep yourself in history at National History Park - Citadel, Sans Souci, Ramiers.
