Ngazidja
The largest island in the Comoros nation, Grande Comore offers secluded relaxation on serene beaches, diving and snorkeling, and exploration of its dramatic volcanic interior. The world's largest active volcano regularly erupts every dozen years, and the blast creates a peculiar desert landscape on the mountain itself--particularly suited for hiking and climbing. Sparsely populated and still relatively untouristed, sandy beaches in hues from bright white to molten black encircle the island set the scene for romantic Grande Comore holidays.
