The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Wed): admire the landmark architecture of Hakata Station, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Hie Shrine, take in the spiritual surroundings of Tenkai Inari Shrine, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Dazaifu Temmangu, and finally admire all the interesting features of Fukuoka Yahuoku! Dome. On the next day, head off the coast to Nokonoshima Island, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park, and then admire the masterpieces at Fukuoka Asian Art Museum.

Bangkok, Thailand to Fukuoka is an approximately 8-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 2 hours traveling from Bangkok to Fukuoka. Prepare for slightly colder weather when traveling from Bangkok in June: high temperatures in Fukuoka hover around 30°C and lows are around 23°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Thu) early enough to take a train to Saga.

Saga is the capital city of Saga Prefecture, located on the island of Kyushu, Japan.Saga was the capital of Saga Domain in the Edo period, and largest city of former Hizen Province.As of February 28, 2017, the city has an estimated population of 234,453 and a population density of 543 persons per km². You can take a train from Fukuoka to Saga in an hour. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. In June, daytime highs in Saga are 30°C, while nighttime lows are 22°C. On the 14th (Fri), you're off toOita.

Kick off your visit on the 14th (Fri): buy something for everyone on your list at JR Oita City, witness a stunning natural landmark at Umi Jigoku, then get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Oita Marine Palace Aquarium Umitamago, and finally take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Takasakiyama Nature Zoo. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 15th (Sat): make a trip to Jigokumushikobo Kannawa, take in the natural beauty of Kamado Jigoku, and then witness a stunning natural landmark at Hells of Beppu.

You can drive from Saga to Oita in 2.5 hours. In June, plan for daily highs up to 27°C, and evening lows to 23°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Fukuoka.
