Cotonou— 5 nights
Benin's largest city and its seat of government, bustling Cotonou also has one of the largest ports in West Africa.Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Musee Honme (Palais Royal) and Ethnographique Museum of Porto Novo. Head to Artisanal Center and Marche Dantokpafor some retail therapy. Get out of town with these interesting Cotonou side-trips: Porto-Novo (Jardin Place Jean Bayol, Great Mosque of Porto-Novo, & more) and Ouidah (Porte du non retour, Temple des Pythons, & more). Spend the 1st (Sun) exploring nature at Parc National de la Pendjari. There's lots more to do: stroll through Fidjrosse Beach, admire the landmark architecture of Palais des Congres, admire all the interesting features of Stade de l'Amitie, and appreciate the history behind Place des Martyrs.
