Capitol Reef National Park — 5 nights

Capitol Reef National Park takes its name from a particularly rugged and scenic section of the Waterpocket Fold, a geologic "wrinkle" stretching for 160 km (100 mi) along a dry plateau surrounded by white Navajo sandstone cliffs and domes, and red canyons, buttes, and rock bridges.
Get outdoors at Capitol Reef National Park and Off-Road & ATV Trails. Popular historic sites such as Gifford Homestead and Fruita Campground are in your itinerary. There's still lots to do: hike along Goosenecks Overlook, explore the stunning scenery at Little Wild Horse Canyon, tour the pleasant surroundings at Grand Wash Trail, and don't miss a visit to Fremont Petroglyphs.

In May in Capitol Reef National Park, expect temperatures between 63°F during the day and 31°F at night.
