Turin — 54 nights

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Duomo di Milano and Il Cenacolo will appeal to history buffs. Museo Egizio and Pinacoteca Ambrosiana will appeal to museum buffs. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Milan (Palazzo del Capitano di Giustizia, Piazza del Duomo, &more), Asti (Arazzeria Scassa & Riserva naturale speciale di Valleandona, Valle Botto, Valle Grande) and Centro Lipu (in Tigliole). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile, take in the exciting artwork at Galleria Sabauda, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone, and take an in-depth tour of Museum of the Risorgimento.

For traveler tips, reviews, more things to do, and more tourist information, go to the Turin route planner.

If you are flying in from The Netherlands, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In June, plan for daily highs up to 26°C, and evening lows to 18°C.
