A modern metropolis of glassy skyscrapers, waterside boulevards, and lush residential neighborhoods, Perth sits on the edge of the Swan Coastal Plain.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Perth: Tyler's Vineyard (in Millendon), Fremantle (Little Creatures, Fremantle Prison, &more) and Jarrahdale (Munda Biddi Trail, St Paul's Anglican Church, &more). Dedicate the 2nd (Sat) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's lots more to do: stroll around Kings Park and Botanic Garden, explore the activities along Swan River, appreciate the history behind State War Memorial, and make a trip to The Bell Tower.

Adelaide exists contentedly as a cultured, diverse, and attractive city with a laid-back center, leafy residential districts, and an underlying cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Venture out of the city with trips to Granite Island (in Victor Harbor), Hahndorf (Hans Heysen Art Studio & The Cedars) and Prancing Pony Brewery (in Mount Barker). Dedicate the 16th (Sat) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. On the 23rd (Sat), give your taste buds a day to remember with a local gastronomic tour. There's still lots to do: take in nature's colorful creations at Adelaide Botanic Garden, get to know the resident critters at Adelaide Zoo, make a trip to Adelaide Oval, and admire the masterpieces at Art Gallery of South Australia.
