Syracuse

— 51 nights

Pearl of the Mediterranean

Philosopher Cicero once described Syracuse as "the greatest Greek city and the most beautiful of them all." A powerful city-state of ancient Greece, Syracuse now is the capital of the eponymous Italian province on the eastern coast of Sicily.
You'll get in some beach time at Sampieri and Lido Arenella. Saint Giorgio and Church of San Pietro are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Syracuse: Noto (Chiesa del Santissimo Crocifisso, St. Nicholas Cathedral, &more), Modica (Chiesa di Santa Maria di Betlem, Chiesa di San Nicolo Inferiore, &more) and Sortino (Anaktoron di Pantalica & Museo Civico dell'Opera dei Pupi). Spend the 27th (Mon) exploring nature at Parco Marino del Plemmirio. Spend the 30th (Thu) exploring nature at Spiaggia di Randello. And it doesn't end there: identify plant and animal life at Riserva Naturale Orientata Cavagrande del Cassibile, explore the galleries of L'Angolo del Papiro, step into the grandiose world of Maniace Castle, and admire the natural beauty at Giardini Iblei.
