You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Fisherman's Bastion and Andrassy Avenue will appeal to history buffs. Step out of the city life by going to Palatinus Strandfürdő and Skyward. Step out of Budapest with an excursion to Nemzeti Botanikus Kert in Vacratot--about 46 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: test the waters at a local thermal spa, head off the coast to Margaret Island, stop by Herend Porcelain - Hadik Shop, and savor the flavors at Central Market Hall.

Visiting Derito Lake and Fenyes Education Trail of Tata will get you outdoors. Get some historical perspective at Ferto / Neusiedlersee Cultural Landscape and St. Michael's Cathedral.
