Port Jervis

Port Jervis is a city located at the confluence of the Neversink and the Delaware rivers in western Orange County, New York, north of the Delaware Water Gap. Your day by day itinerary now includes Matamoras Welcome Center. On the 16th (Wed), see the interesting displays at Franklin Mineral Museum, immerse yourself in nature at High Point State Park, and then get all the information you need at Matamoras Welcome Center. Here are some ideas for day two: immerse yourself in nature at Minnewaska State Park Preserve, examine the collection at The Museum at Bethel Woods, and then cruise along Hawk's Nest Highway.

A year-round vacation getaway, the region once attracted mostly honeymooners. Today, the Poconos draw adventure-seekers from around the globe, arriving in throngs to explore one of the southernmost ski areas in the United States. Famous for its pristine nature teeming with native wildlife, the region is a quick car ride from New England or New York. The Pocono Mountains do not encompass any major cities--the wilderness area dotted with small towns and natural attractions makes this one of the least polluted portions of the region.
