Theme Park Capital of the World

For most people, any mention of Orlando immediately conjures up images of sprawling theme parks filled with characters plucked right out of popular animated movies.
Pack the 30th (Tue) with family-friendly diversions at Universal's Islands of Adventure. Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 29th (Mon) at Discovery Cove. It doesn't end there: find something for the whole family at Universal Orlando Resort.

Salt Lake City to Orlando is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Salt Lake City to Orlando, you'll lose 2 hours due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Salt Lake City in August, Orlando is a bit warmer at night with lows of 76°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Wed) early enough to drive to Cocoa Beach.

Cocoa Beach — 1 night

Situated in one of Florida's busiest vacation areas, Cocoa Beach burst onto the world scene in the 1960s, when it became a popular setting for parades honoring the nation's "Apollo" astronauts.
On the 31st (Wed), get curious at Space Shuttle Atlantis, then get advice or help at NASA Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, and then soothe aching muscles at Beach Pole Fitness. On your second day here, brush up on your military savvy at Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum, get a new perspective on things with Time and Tide Tours, and then indulge your senses at The Florida Key Lime Pie Company.

Drive from Orlando to Cocoa Beach in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and bus; or do a combination of shuttle and bus. August in Cocoa Beach sees daily highs of 88°F and lows of 78°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Thu) so you can fly back home.
