Deemed the Capital of Engines, Modena is the birthplace of Enzo Ferrari and the headquarters of Italian sports cars.
Escape the urban bustle at Botanical Garden Maria Ansaldi Pania di Corfino and Riserva Naturale di Torrile e Trecasali. Museo Ferrari and Panini Motor Museum will appeal to museum buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Modena: River Rafting & Tubing (in Bagni di Lucca), Parma (Battistero di Parma & Cattedrale di Parma) and Parco Regionale Abbazia di Monteveglio (in Monteveglio). There's still lots to do: get the adrenaline pumping with an extreme tour, see the interesting displays at Acetaia Giuseppe Giusti, appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza Grande, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Duomo di Modena.

To find other places to visit, photos, more things to do, and tourist information, go to the Modena road trip planning tool .

If you are flying in from Germany, the closest major airports are Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport, Verona Villafranca Airport and Peretola Airport. Expect a daytime high around 22°C in April, and nighttime lows around 10°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 25th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
