An important gateway for trade and travel between Honshu and Kyushu, the city of Kitakyushu has an old industrial waterfront and provides access to a number of natural sites across the wider region.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Tsunoshimao Bridge. Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Mon): take a stroll through Mojiko Retro and then take in the views from Tsunoshimao Bridge.

Fukuoka to Kitakyushu is an approximately 1-hour car ride. You can also drive; or take a train; or take a bus. While traveling from Fukuoka, expect a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Kitakyushu, ranging from highs of 20°C to lows of 13°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Mon) so you can drive to Kurume.

Admire the temples and shrines of Kurume, a small, compact town situated on the Chikushi Plain, known for its local products, such as an indigo woven fabric, bamboo lacquerware, and pork ramen.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Nabegataki Falls as well as Yame Chuo Tea Garden. Kick off your visit on the 24th (Tue): admire the sheer force of Nabegataki Falls and then take some stellar pictures from Yame Chuo Tea Garden.

Start off your visit on the 26th (Thu): get your bearings at Sakuranobaba Johsaien, appreciate the history behind Kato Kiyomasa Statue, then don't miss a visit to Shinshigai Shotengai, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Kato Shrine, and finally explore the historical opulence of Kumamoto Castle.
