Start off your visit on the 17th (Sat): hike along Grotto Falls Parking, stroll through Roaring Fork, and then cruise along Foothills Parkway Southwest Parking. On the 18th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the awesome beauty at Clingmans Dome, cruise along Newfound Gap Road, and then appreciate the history behind Rockefeller Memorial.

Peaceful Side of the Smokies

The quietest of the three main entrances to the World Heritage-listed national park encompassing part of the Great Smoky Mountains, Townsend is a low-key town.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Dark Island Swinging Bridge. Take a break from Townsend with a short trip to The Lost Sea Adventure in Sweetwater, about 1h 5 min away. And it doesn't end there: Head underground at Tuckaleechee Caverns, get in on the family fun at Tube Junction, trot along with a tour on horseback, and take a memorable drive along Cherohala Skyway.
