The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
Get out of town with these interesting Jeju side-trips: Seogwipo (Seongsan Ilchulbong, Cheonjiyeon Falls, &more). The adventure continues: Head underground at Manjanggul Cave, enjoy the sand and surf at Hamdeok Beach, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gwaneumsa Temple, and hike along Jeju Olle Trail Routes.

Gwangju is the sixth largest city in South Korea. Change things up with these side-trips from Gwangju: Unjusa (in Hwasun-gun), Geumseongsanseong Fortress (in Damyang-gun) and Jeonju Hanok Village (in Jeonju). Spend the 12th (Sun) exploring nature at Mudeungsan National Park.
