Busan — 5 nights

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Take a break from Busan with a short trip to Gimhae National Museum in Gimhae, about 50 minutes away. The adventure continues: kick back and relax at Haeundae Beach, snap pictures at Gwangandaegyo Bridge, walk around Yongdusan Park, and get outside with Gwangalli Beach.

Milan, Italy to Busan is an approximately 17.5-hour combination of flight, bus, and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 8 hours traveling from Milan to Busan. In December, daily temperatures in Busan can reach 10°C, while at night they dip to 0°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 31st (Sat) so you can go by car to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Get out of town with these interesting Gyeongju side-trips: Daegu (Dalseung Korea-Japan Friendship Center & Seomun Market) and Ulsan (Ulsan Daegok Museum, Ulsan Petroglyph Museum, &more). There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Bulguksa Temple, take in the views from Woljeonggyo Bridge, contemplate the long history of Bunhwangsa Temple, and contemplate the waterfront views at Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond.
