Turin — 3 nights

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Castello di Grinzane Cavour and Ricetto di Candelo. Castello e Parco di Masino and Santuario di Oropa will appeal to history buffs. Venture out of the city with trips to Castello di Racconigi (in Racconigi), Castello di Verres (in Verres) and Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis (in Vicoforte). There's much more to do: examine the collection at Juventus Museum, admire the landmark architecture of Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, explore the historical opulence of Castello di Issogne, and take an in-depth tour of Armeria Reale.

To find maps, ratings, reviews, and tourist information, refer to the Turin holiday planning site.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 17°C in April, and nighttime lows around 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
