With surrounding medieval walls and network of 15th- and 16th-century architecture, the city of Ferrara is often deemed the Heart of the Italian Renaissance.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ferrara: Villa dei Vescovi (in Luvigliano), Comacchio (Chiesa del Santissimo Rosario & Trepponti) and Garden of Villa Barbarigo in Valsanzibio (in Valsanzibio). There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Centro Storico Ferrara, pause for some serene contemplation at Ferrara Cathedral, view the masterpieces at Palazzo dei Diamanti, and steep yourself in history at Palazzo Schifanoia (Palazzo della Gioia).

To see ratings, maps, other places to visit, and other tourist information, go to the Ferrara road trip planner.

Turin to Ferrara is an approximately 3-hour train ride. You can also drive; or fly. Traveling from Turin in March, expect nights in Ferrara to be about the same, around °C, while days are somewhat warmer, around °C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Fri) early enough to take a train back home.
