Chur, Switzerland

Chur or Coire is the capital and largest town of the Swiss canton of Grisons and lies in the Grisonian Rhine Valley, where the Rhine turns towards the north, in the northern part of the canton. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Lenzerheide Ski Resort and Alpen Arena. Explore Chur's surroundings by going to Trutg dil Flem (in Flims) and Parpaner Rothorn (in Lenzerheide). There's still lots to do: admire the masterpieces at Forum Wurth Chur, examine the collection at Das Gelbe Haus Flims, get a new perspective on nature at Bundner Naturmuseum, and take a stroll through Old Town Chur.

Tirano is a town in Valtellina, located in the province of Sondrio in northern Italy. On the 1st (Wed), fly down the slopes at Passo delll'Aprica, see the interesting displays at Palazzo Salis e Museo Senza Frontiere, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chiesa di San Martino, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Santuario della Beata Vergine di Tirano, and finally do a tasting at Plozza Vini Tirano. Keep things going the next day: see the interesting displays at Forte Venini di Oga - Valdisotto, hit the slopes at Santa Caterina, then pause for some serene contemplation at Chiesa di San Giorgio, then look for gifts at Liquorificio Alta Valle Camonica, and finally examine the collection at Museo Golgi.

Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari and Centro Storico di Venezia.
