Pearl of the Orient

With a nickname like the "Pearl of the Orient," it's not surprising Shanghai offers some of the most rewarding attractions and activities in the Far East.
Plan my Shanghai trip by asking Inspirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

Billund, Denmark to Shanghai is an approximately 18-hour flight. You'll lose 7 hours traveling from Billund to Shanghai due to the time zone difference. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Billund in June: highs in Shanghai hover around 33°C, while lows dip to 25°C. You will leave for Taipei on the 1st (Wed).

City of Azaleas

Situated in a basin between two mountain ranges, Taipei appeals to tourists with its blend of Asian cultures, living side by side amidst Japanese-era mansions and Taoist temples.
Get some cultural insight at Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street) and Ximending. Shop till you drop at Taipei 101 and Zhen Yi Xuan - Zhongxiao Xinsheng Menshi. Change things up with these side-trips from Taipei: Ruifang (Gold Museum, New Taipei Government & Houtong Coal-Mine Ecological Park). There's much more to do: examine the collection at National Palace Museum, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Taipei Zoo, steep yourself in history at The Lin Yutang House, and make a trip to National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.

Getting from Shanghai to Taipei by flight takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of train, bus, ferry, and car. Traveling from Shanghai in June, things will get somewhat warmer in Taipei: highs are around 38°C and lows about 30°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Sun) to allow time to drive to Taichung.

Cultural City

Known its good weather, Taichung boasts an interesting set of cultural attractions, including many temples showing the development of religious architectural styles in the area and forming focal points for most tours of Taichung.
On the 6th (Mon), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Pusasi, browse the different shops at Taroko Mall, then look for gifts at Yichung Shopping Street, and finally browse the different shops at Showtime Plaza. On the next day, get curious at National Museum of Natural Science, don't miss a visit to Audit Village, then wander the streets of Rainbow Village Taichung, and finally buy something for everyone on your list at Showtime Live Wenxin.

Traveling by car from Taipei to Taichung takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. In June, daytime highs in Taichung are 36°C, while nighttime lows are 28°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Tue) to allow time to drive to Tainan.

Tainan, Taiwan

Phoenix City

The oldest city in the country, Tainan stood as the island's capital during feudal times.
For shopping fun, head to Hayashi Department Store or The Pier-2 Art Centre. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Chihkan Tower (Fort Provintia) and Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum. Explore Tainan's surroundings by going to Xinxing (The Dome of Light & Formosa Boulevard Station). There's still lots to do: expand your understanding of the military at Anping Fort (Anping gubao), see the interesting displays at Chimei Museum, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Confucius Temple.

You can drive from Taichung to Tainan in 2 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Fri) so you can travel to Hanoi.

Hanoi, Vietnam

The capital of Vietnam, Hanoi has bounded back from the effects of war, and today serves as a bustling commercial and cultural hub bursting at the seams.
Get some cultural insight at Old Quarter and Temple of Literature & National University. Head to TiredCity Hang Bong and Empty Wall Galleryfor plenty of shopping. On the 11th (Sat), spend a fun day on foot with Walking tours. The adventure continues: steep yourself in history at Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and explore the activities along Lake of the Restored Sword (Hoan Kiem Lake).

Getting from Tainan to Hanoi by flight takes about 7 hours. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1 hour traveling from Tainan to Hanoi. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel to Ho Chi Minh City.

Formerly known in the West as Saigon and affectionately referred to as the "Pearl of the Far East," Ho Chi Minh City is a study of old and new, woven and piled together in a fast-paced urban hub.
Head to Ben Thanh Market and Vietnam Silver Housefor plenty of shopping. War Remnants Museum and The Independence Palace are good opportunities to explore the local culture. On the 17th (Fri), spend an adventurous day with a kayaking and canoeing tour. There's much more to do: don't miss a visit to Cu Chi Tunnels, get a sense of history and politics at Central Post Office, expand your understanding of the military at Ben Dinh Tunnels, and view the masterpieces at Ben Thanh Art & Frame.

Enjoy cultural, historical, and culinary exploration during your holiday in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand and the most populous city in the country.
Head to Chatuchak Weekend Market and Siam Paragonfor some retail therapy. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like The Grand Palace and Temple Of Dawn (Wat Arun). A holiday in Kuala Lumpur, a modern metropolis and capital of Malaysia, reveals a place where colonial influences, Asian traditions, and modern aesthetics come together in urban architecture and street layout.
