Although it lacks the cultural flair of Rio de Janeiro and the massive urban sprawl of Sao Paulo, Brasilia holds a fascinating place in the tapestry of Brazil.
Step out of Brasilia with an excursion to Casa Dom Inacio de Loyola in Abadiania--about 1h 45 min away. There's still lots to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Catedral Metropolitana, get a sense of history and politics at Itamaraty Palace, take in the views from Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Templo da Boa Vontade.
