Bauska is a town in Bauska Municipality, in the Zemgale region of southern Latvia. Ventspils is a town in northwestern Latvia in the historical Courland region of Latvia, and is the sixth largest city in the country. Venture out of the city with trips to Kuldiga (The Riezupe Sand Caves & Venta Rapid Waterfall) and Slitere National Park (in Talsi). You can drive from Liepaja to Ventspils in 2 hours. Another option is to take a bus. In October, daytime highs in Ventspils are 12°C, while nighttime lows are 6°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Sat) so you can go by car to Sigulda.
