One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Seoul: DMZ Haemaru Village (in Paju) and Hwaseong Fortress (in Suwon). Pack the 6th (Sat) with family-friendly diversions at Lotte World. There's still lots to do: take in panoramic vistas at N Seoul Tower, wander the streets of Bukchon Hanok Village, don't miss a visit to Jongmyo Shrine, and admire the landmark architecture of Changdeokgung Palace.

Sokcho — 2 nights

Tourism in Sokcho mostly revolves around the local national park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
On the 10th (Wed), explore the wealth of natural beauty at Seoraksan National Park. On the 11th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: visit a coastal fixture at Sokcho Lighthouse Observatory, then hunt for treasures at Sokcho Central Market, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Naksansa Temple, and finally kick back and relax at Naksan Beach.

Gyeongju — 2 nights

Museum Without Walls

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Kick off your visit on the 19th (Fri): contemplate the long history of Cheonmachong Tomb, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Bulguksa Temple, and then pause for some photo ops at Seokguram. On the 20th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: steep yourself in history at Cheomseongdae Observatory, contemplate the waterfront views at Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, and then see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum.

Getting from Busan to Gyeongju by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or take a train. While traveling from Busan, expect slightly colder days and about the same nights in Gyeongju, ranging from highs of 73°F to lows of 73°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Andong.

Andong — 6 nights

Capital City of Korean Spiritual Culture

Sitting along either side of the Nakdong River, Andong maintains an unrivalled reputation as a center for Korean folk and cultural heritage.
Venture out of the city with trips to Mungyeong Saejae Provincial Park (in Mungyeong), Juwangsan National Park (in Cheongsong-gun) and Danyang-gun (Guinsa Temple & Gosu Cave). And it doesn't end there: contemplate the long history of Andong Hahoe Folk Village, take in the views from Weolyeonggyo Bridge, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Bongjeongsa, and examine the collection at Hahoe Mask Museum.

Traveling by car from Gyeongju to Andong takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. While traveling from Gyeongju, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Andong, ranging from highs of 88°F to lows of 72°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Fri) to allow time to fly to Jeju.

Jeju, Jeju Island — 3 nights

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
Venture out of the city with trips to Seogwipo (Seongsan Ilchulbong, Jeongbang Waterfall, &more). There's still lots to do: Head underground at Manjanggul Cave, get outside with Hamdeok Beach, head off the coast to Udo, and browse the eclectic array of goods at Dongmun Market.
