Known to most by its German name Auschwitz, the modestly sized city of Oswiecim sits at the foot of the Jura Mountains, just 50 km (30 mi) west of Krakow.
On the 6th (Tue), take an in-depth tour of Zamek Museum, get engrossed in the history at Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau, and then pause for some photo ops at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
