Santiago tourism thrives largely thanks to the city's big selection of cultural and entertainment options, including museums, theaters, restaurants, bars, and giant malls.
Step out of Santiago to go to Pirque and see Concha y Toro, which is approximately 44 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: take in the awesome beauty at San Cristóbal Hill, look for gifts at Patio Bellavista, examine the collection at La Chascona, and browse the eclectic array of goods at Central Market (Mercado Central).

Main city on Chile's Chiloe Island, Castro represents one of the country's oldest inhabited settlements, making its fortune as both a tourist center and transportation hub.

A city of 40,000 people, Ancud was the capital of Chiloe Archipelago until it was superseded by the city of Castro in 1982.

Traveling from Ancud in January, things will get a bit warmer in Valparaiso: highs are around 26°C and lows about 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Fri) so you can fly to San Pedro de Atacama.
