Detroit — 2 nights

Founded in 1701 by a French explorer and adventurer, Detroit exerted a profound impact on the world for most of the 20th century.
Popular historic sites such as Motown Museum and Yates Cider Mill are in your itinerary. Do some cultural sightseeing at The Henry Ford and Detroit Institute of Arts. And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Greenfield Village, contemplate the long history of Franklin Cider Mill, pause for some photo ops at Michigan Soldiers and Sailors Monument, and browse the exhibits of The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant.

Pittsburgh to Detroit is an approximately 2.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. In October, daily temperatures in Detroit can reach 63°F, while at night they dip to 48°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 17th (Sun) so you can catch the flight back home.
