A little town with a thriving tourism industry, Panajachel sits on the northern shore of scenic Atitlan Lake, one of Guatemala's major vacation destinations.
Step off the beaten path and head to Spas & Wellness and Tzantizotz Nature Reserve. Step out of the city life by going to Lake Atitlan and Reserva Natural Atitlán. Change things up with these side-trips from Panajachel: Cojolya Museum and Store (in Santiago Atitlan) and Santo Tomas Church (in Chichicastenango). There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Church of St Francis and examine the collection at Museo Arqueologico Azul Maya.

Expect a daytime high around 72°F in March, and nighttime lows around 42°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Wed) to allow time to travel back home.
