A little town with a thriving tourism industry, Panajachel sits on the northern shore of scenic Atitlan Lake, one of Guatemala's major vacation destinations.
Step off the beaten path and head to Spas & Wellness and Museo Arqueologico Azul Maya. Step out of the city life by going to Lake Atitlan and Tzantizotz Nature Reserve. Change things up with these side-trips from Panajachel: Santo Tomas Church (in Chichicastenango) and Cojolya Museum and Store (in Santiago Atitlan). There's more to do: whizz through the canopy at Reserva Natural Atitlán and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St Francis.

For reviews, where to stay, and other tourist information, refer to the Panajachel travel planner.

In March, daytime highs in Panajachel are 79°F, while nighttime lows are 53°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 21st (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
