A little town with a thriving tourism industry, Panajachel sits on the northern shore of scenic Atitlan Lake, one of Guatemala's major vacation destinations.
Step off the beaten path and head to Spas & Wellness and Cojolya Museum and Store. Step out of the city life by going to Lake Atitlan and Tzantizotz Nature Reserve. Go for a jaunt from Panajachel to Chichicastenango to see Santo Tomas Church about 1h 25 min away. Next up on the itinerary: whizz through the canopy at Reserva Natural Atitlán, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St Francis, and see the interesting displays at Museo Arqueologico Azul Maya.

For maps, more things to do, and more tourist information, you can read our Panajachel online visit planner .

In March, plan for daily highs up to 79°F, and evening lows to 53°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 21st (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
