City of Dreaming Spires

A busy, cosmopolitan city, Oxford is perhaps best known for its ancient university.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Warwick Castle and St Peter's Church. Get a sense of the local culture at Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology and Magdalen College. Venture out of the city with trips to Walks With Hawks (in Cheltenham), Cotswold Motoring Museum (in Bourton-on-the-Water) and Cotswolds Distillery (in Stourton). There's lots more to do: see the interesting displays at Pitt Rivers Museum, gain insight at Balliol College, sample the fine beverages at The Oxford Artisan Distillery, and contemplate the long history of Blenheim Palace.

To find other places to visit, reviews, and tourist information, go to the Oxford route planning website.

Expect a daytime high around 27°C in July, and nighttime lows around 13°C.
