Akureyri — 4 nights

Capital of North Iceland

Often referred to as Iceland's second city, Akureyri offers an array of cultural attractions in a scenic setting.
Take a break from the city and head to Speed Boats Tours and Horseback Riding Tours. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Off-Road Tours and Nonni's House. When in Akureyri, make a side trip to see Glaumbaer Museum in Varmahlid, approximately Varmahlid away. Hofn — 3 nights

Höfn or Höfn í Hornafirði is an Icelandic fishing town in the southeastern part of the country. Take a break from the city and head to Fellsfjara and Boat Tours & Water Sports. Step off the beaten path and head to Vatnajokull and Hvalnes Lighthouse. Step out of Hofn to go to Djupivogur and see Bakkabud, which is approximately 1h 25 min away. It doesn't end there: try out the rides at Hofn Swimming Pool and explore the world behind art at The Thorbergur center.

You can drive from Reykjahlid to Hofn in 5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. Traveling from Reykjahlid in November, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be a bit warmer in Hofn, with lows of 33°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 4th (Fri) to allow enough time to drive to Vik.
