Sydney is a population centre and former city in Nova Scotia, Canada. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site and Pondville Beach Provincial Park. Venture out of the city with trips to Ski Ben Eoin (in East Bay), Baddeck (Ski Tuonela & Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site) and Louisbourg Lighthouse Coastal Trail (in Louisbourg). There's still lots to do: cruise along Cabot Trail, enjoy the sand and surf at Point Michaud Beach, appreciate the history behind Sydney Merchant Mariners Memorial, and pause for some serene contemplation at Holy Redeemer Parish.

Montreal to Sydney is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Montreal to Sydney. While traveling from Montreal, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Sydney, ranging from highs of 0°C to lows of -11°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Thu) so you can travel to Ingonish.

Nestled on a cozy harbor surrounded by green forests, the coastal town of Ingonish serves as the perfect coastal retreat for those after a quiet getaway.
Kids will enjoy Christopher Gorey Gallery and Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Get out of town with these interesting Ingonish side-trips: MacIntosh Brook Trail (in Pleasant Bay), St. Paul Island Museum & Lighthouse (in Dingwall) and Acadian Trail (in Cheticamp). There's still lots to do: take in the awesome beauty at Franey Mountain, trek along Green Cove Trail, enjoy the sand and surf at Black Brook Beach, and grab your bike and head to Warren Lake Trail.

An hour's drive from Halifax's international airport, Luneburg boasts both colorful buildings and a colorful history, as well as status as a World Heritage Site.
Attractions like St. John's Anglican Church and Rissers Beach Provincial Park make great kid-friendly stops. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lunenburg: Chester (Lightfoot Tower Zoe Valle Memorial Library & Graves Island Provincial Park), Beach Meadows Beach Park (in Brooklyn) and Cape Split Trailhead (in Kentville). There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Crescent Beach, hike along Gaff Point Trail, stroll through Hirtle's Beach, and learn about winemaking at Wine Kings.
