Set among the picturesque peaks and glacially carved fiords of Fiordland National Park, Te Anau offers those wishing to explore the park a great place to stay and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of a small town in an enviable location.
Escape the urban bustle at Milford Sound and The Chasm Walk. Step off the beaten path and head to Lake Te Anau and Punanga Manu o Te Anau. Step out of Te Anau to go to Manapouri and see Kayaking & Canoeing, which is approximately 50 minutes away. There's still lots to do: trek along Mirror Lakes Walk, tour the pleasant surroundings at Lake Marian Track, stop by Kowhai Gifts & Souvenirs, and see the world from above with a helicopter tour.
