Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Santa Maria Volcano and Fuentes Georginas. Step out of the city life by going to Laguna Chicabal and Cerro El Baul. Step out of Quetzaltenango to go to Retalhuleu and see Xetulul Theme Park, which is approximately 1h 30 min away. There's more to do: don't miss a visit to Central Plaza and pause for some serene contemplation at La Ermita de la Concepcion (La Conquistadora).
