One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Take a break from the city and head to Bukhansan National Park and Cheonggyecheon Stream. For shopping fun, head to Myeongdong Shopping Street or GOTO Mall. Change things up with these side-trips from Seoul: Suwon (Dongbukgongsimdon & Hwaseong Fortress), Songdo Central Park (in Incheon) and Ilsan Lake Park (in Goyang). Spend the 26th (Mon) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Busan — 11 nights

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at UN Memorial Cemetery and Cheonmachong Tomb. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Gwangalli Beach and Igidae Park. Explore Busan's surroundings by going to Gyeongju (Daereungwon Tomb Complex, Gyeongju Historic Area, &more). There's lots more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Dadaepo Beach, hunt for treasures at Jagalchi Market, get outside with Songjeong Beach, and stroll around Dongbaekseom.

Traveling by flight from Seoul to Busan takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. When traveling from Seoul in October, plan for somewhat warmer days in Busan, with highs around 26°C, while nights are little chillier with lows around 15°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 19th (Wed) to allow enough time to fly back home.
