The sleepy market town of Kabale in Western Uganda, although meagre in sights of its own, boasts close proximity to several national parks, just a couple of miles from the border with Rwanda.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Bugona Tree and All Saints Church. Get in touch with nature at Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Virunga Volcanoes. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Kabale: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (in Kanungu), Kisiizi Falls (in Rukungiri) and Kitagata Hot Springs (in Kitagata). There's still lots to do: head outdoors with Lake Bunyonyi, get the lay of the land with Bunyonyi Cultural Tours, take an exotic tour of a safari tour, and tee off at Kabale Golf Course.

For traveler tips, maps, other places to visit, and tourist information, refer to the Kabale trip planner .

Expect a daytime high around 26°C in May, and nighttime lows around 17°C. You'll set off for home on the 10th (Mon).
