Go for a jaunt from Kesennuma to Minamisanriku-cho to see Minamisanriku Former Disaster Emergency Center about 48 minutes away. There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at Ruins of the Great East Japan Earthquake Kesennuma City Memorial Museum, walk around Akasaka Public Park, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Tokusenjo, and enjoy the sea views from Tatsumaizaki.
